We live in Gori,Georgia. During Russian-Georgian war in August,2008, our city was in the epicenter of war operations. It was terrible. Fortunately, our school wasn’t damaged, but several trees dried off. We decided to plant new trees instead of damaged ones on May 22.
We are happy we joined such an interesting activity. We consider it’s a good opportunity to take care of earth’s ecology and make friends in different countries.
Now a few words about our activity : everything seemed to be green that day ; green logos on white t-shirts, green balls, plants and trees. We held an exhibition of paintings, drawing competition on asphalt, planted plants, we sang alltogether the song “We are the world” and at the end we tasted the symbolic cake “Green Wave” and made a memorable autographs on the poster.
Important guests from “UNICEF”, EU and government attended our activity.
We are happy we are the first participants from Georgia and that we suggested our friends from different countries to join us.
I’m sure the number of participants from Georgia will increase significantly next year.
